Aristotle is one of the most important philosophers in the world and among the canonical philosophers of the Western tradition. In a series of lectures, I explore and explain Aristotle’s Metaphysics, Nicomachean Ethics, and Politics. Through these online lectures we understand how Aristotle’s metaphysics operates and builds from Plato, what is meant by Aristotle saying that “man is a political animal,” the relationship between virtue and happiness for the good life, and Aristotle’s critique of (Platonic) collectivism and his defense of the family as the basis of political liberty and civilization.
